| Looking to replace my AC condenser. I know there are two units available, wondering which one is the correct one? My Z is a 94 TT with the R134a. I would like to replace the condenser as it appears to be blocking airflow to my radiator. More details below. Secondly, my AC has not worked since I bought the car. I have all the components in place and hooked up, however, every time I turn the AC on I do not get cold air. I don't know much about the AC system and was wondering what is the simplest way to check to see if the system actually has refrigerant in it? I understand that I need the refrigerant properly removed from the system, however, I would like to check and see if there is any to begin with since it might have leaked out prior to me owning the car. If there is no refrigerant present, I can change the condenser trouble free. Here is the history behind why I would like to change the condenser. Here is the original post I made about it: [ http://twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/technical/view/1143179/Lets-talk-about-operating-coolant-temperature.html ] I've tested my cooling system and it holds pressure with no leaks. I am not losing coolant. At speed the temps are right at 185 F. I replaced my fan clutch as the original one was faulty. That did not resolve the issue. I pressurized my radiator cap and it holds pressure. The cap is a Nissan OEM unit, purchased a few months ago 1.2 bar. Water pump circulates coolant, thermostat is working properly. After looking around I noticed that my AC condenser is significantly dirty (looks like tar on lower left corner). Furthermore, the radiator is a used OEM Calsonic unit and it has a few bent fins and dings. I think with the combination of the Stillen oil cooler, the damaged/clogged condenser and the radiator with bent fins, I am not getting proper airflow. Hence why I would like to replace the condenser and the radiator. Looking to change the radiator with a Koyo OEM replacement and the condenser with a new OEM unit.
I have nightmares about that happening...I'd be the poor bastard you'd hear about on the news that gets killed by a softball-size chunk while spreading out my body over the hood and screaming "Nooo!" (Having a conversation about hail damage) - BradZ (FL) on March 25, 2005 at 9:56 PM
Tell your friend that you could take a dump, light it on fire and that would be hotter shit than his car. Probes suck, that's just all there is to it. - 300ZXpert (someday) on April 04, 2005 at 11:35 PM P.S. You REALLY are on here at ALL hours!
